2. Bullet Rani

Bullet Rani is an action-oriented thriller centered on a fearless police officer investigating the murder of a powerful political leader.

The movie combines police investigation, crime, corruption and action. Current streaming information identifies Bullet Rani as a 2016 Indian film, while recent Hindi-dubbed YouTube uploads have marketed it as a 2026 release.

So if you’re writing this for SEO, I’d avoid saying “2026 movie” unless you’re specifically referring to the Hindi-dubbed release.

MovieUnit Rating: ⭐ 6/10

Best for: Fans of action-heavy crime thrillers.

3. Iravin Vizhigal (2025)

If you’re looking for a newer Tamil mystery thriller, Iravin Vizhigal is an interesting pick.

The movie was released in March 2025 and later premiered on Aha Tamil.

Why Watch Asthram?

The central investigation is easily the most interesting aspect. The unusual pattern of deaths gives the movie a proper murder-mystery feel.

MovieUnit Rating: ⭐ 6.5/10

Best for: Crime investigation and murder mystery fans.

5. Pizza

Pizza is one of the better-known Tamil horror thrillers associated with director Karthik Subbaraj and actor Vijay Sethupathi.

The 2012 film follows a pizza delivery worker who becomes trapped in a customer’s house and begins experiencing strange paranormal events.

The movie’s strength is its ability to combine horror with mystery, keeping the viewer questioning what is actually happening.

Why Watch Pizza?

If you enjoy movies where the story keeps making you rethink earlier events, Pizza is an excellent example of that style of thriller.

MovieUnit Rating: ⭐ 7.5/10

6. Teddy (2021)

At first glance, Teddy may not look like a conventional suspense thriller.

The Tamil film combines action, adventure, fantasy and thriller elements, following a young man who becomes involved in a dangerous situation with a teddy bear that behaves like a human.

Directed by Shakti Soundar Rajan, the film stars Arya and Sayyeshaa.

It’s definitely one of the more unusual entries on this list.

MovieUnit Rating: ⭐ 6.5/10

Best for: Viewers who like fantasy action with a thriller angle.

7. Mission 118

Mission 118 is the Hindi-dubbed title of the Telugu film 118, released in 2019.

The original movie stars Nandamuri Kalyan Ram, Nivetha Thomas and Shalini Pandey and was directed by K. V. Guhan.

The story follows journalist Goutham, who repeatedly dreams about a woman and begins investigating whether the mysterious events in his dreams are connected to a real crime.

This is exactly the kind of premise that works well for suspense fans:

Is it just a dream—or is the dream revealing something real?

Best for: Mystery, investigation and psychological-thriller fans.

8. Mokshapatam (2025)

Mokshapatam is a Telugu crime thriller that went directly to streaming in January 2025.

The story involves characters facing financial problems, moral choices and the consequences of unexpected opportunities. IMDb describes the central setup around a hotel worker who discovers a forgotten bag and must decide what to do with it.

One of the interesting things about the movie is its slow-burn approach. It isn’t necessarily a rapid-fire thriller from the opening scene.

MovieUnit Rating: ⭐ 7/10

Best for: Viewers who enjoy slow-burn crime stories.

9. Bhoghee (2025)

Bhoghee is a 2025 Tamil film directed by S. Vijayasekaran, starring Poonam Kaur, Nabi Nanthi and Vela Ramamoorthy.
